10.1.2 Description of Supplier Diversity Program
Activities Planned for the Next Calendar Year
INTERNAL PLANNED PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
The Responsible Sourcing team will continue to enhance the internal program activities detailed
in Section 9.1.1 of this report to build upon the success of our program. Internal planned program
activities include but are not limited to the following:
• Improve communication and engagement with business unit decision makers.
• Systematically identify opportunities for diverse supplier participation for each portfolio, major
project and department.
• Update review processes and outreach procedures to ensure primes stay current on their monthly
DBE subcontracting reporting.
• Reassess resource deployment to maximize impact.
EXTERNAL PLANNED PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
We will continue to build upon the successful external strategies described in Section 9.1.1 of this report
through collaboration with our CBOs, the Supplier Clearinghouse and local business and civic leaders
to identify and develop suppliers for contracting opportunities.
10.1.3 Plans for Recruiting Diverse Suppliers
in Low-Utilization Categories
To make progress toward meeting the CPUC’s 1.5% goal for spend with LGBT
businesses, we will continue to collaborate with organizations like BuildIT and San
Diego Equality Business Association to grow the supplier pool.
Through the efforts outlined in Section 9.1.1, we continue to inform and educate
diverse suppliers about potential opportunities. Refer to Sections 9.1.1 and 10.1.2
of this report for analysis and corresponding planned activities to recruit diverse
suppliers in all underutilized areas.
