9.1.1 Description of Supplier Diversity Program Activities
During the Previous Calendar Year
ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN THE RFP PROCESS
The Responsible Sourcing team works closely with our category and
portfolio managers throughout the year. The team engages in the
Request for Proposal (RFP) and bidder evaluation processes, helping
to identify potential bidders and assess their capabilities through the
Supplier Clearinghouse and our community-based organization (CBO)
networks. In 2025, our team participated in nearly 50 RFPs.
on key priorities such as safety, performance and supplier diversity. At
these meetings, the team provides supplier diversity updates, discusses
scopes of work where potential subcontracting opportunities may exist
and offers help to connect with qualified subcontractors.
SUPPLIER QUICK PAY PROGRAM
Our program is designed to help improve cash flow for small
businesses to run and expand their operations. Businesses with 25
or fewer employees and under $5 million in revenue can qualify for
quick payments (net 15 days with no discount).
SUPPLIER INTEREST FORM
Since our supplier interest form went live in 2023 at
sdge.com/ResponsibleSourcing, companies have used it to submit
their capabilities and contact information. This database of suppliers
serves as a supplemental resource to the Supplier Clearinghouse.
When we determine that a supplier is a good fit to meet our needs,
we connect with them.
